At Safety Seats, we provide Child Car Restraint Installation and Inspection Services. We are located in Point Cook and also service Melbourne's Western Suburbs.
Did you know that 3 out of 4 car seats are fitted incorrectly? Your child is the most precious cargo you will carry around and using the correct restraint for your childs age/ weight/ height and having it correctly installed is vitally important! At Safety Seats, we aim to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of how to use your car seats correctly and keep your children safe when travelling in the car from day to day.
The Law currently states that children must be restrained in an approved (meets current Australian Safety Standards) and correctly installed:
- Rear facing capsual or car seat until they are 6 months minimum
- Forward facing car seat with in built harness until they are 4 years minimum
- In a booster seat with lap sash seatbelt until 7 years minimum
These are the minimum recommendations. The safest way for your child to travel is rear facing as long as possible and in a harnessed restraint as long as possible. More information can be found on our Facebook page.

What we do...
19 POINT CAR SEAT SAFETY INSPECTION
Our 19 Point Car Seat Safety Inspection ensures that your car seat has been installed correctly by yourself or someone else. We highlight any issues due to wear and tear which is important if you are using a second hand restraint.
You come to us: $10
We come to you*: $20
A 19 Point Car Seat Safety Inspection includes a check of the following: seat belts, anchorage, harness, tether and fitment. If we need to re-install the seat, installation fees will apply (less the Safety Inspection fee).
CAR SEAT INSTALLATION
Our Car Seat Installations include a 19 Point Car Seat Safety Inspection and the use of a gated buckle, anti-tamper label, anchor bolt and foam wedge (if required). You will also receive the necessary information and knowledge to perform your own safety checks/ re-installations when required.

OTHER SERVICES
Additional approved safety accessories are available to purchase if required such as extension straps, Houdini Stop Straps, Protecta Harnesses, Seat protection mats, Hurphy Durphy Buckle Covers, rear facing car seat mirrors etc.
We can also assist you in the purchase of a new child restraint. We are able to meet you and help you to fit your child in the correct car seat and then fit in your vehicle if required. Please contact us to discuss.
Safety Seats is happy to provide educational information sessions to mothers groups, playgroups, childcare centres, charity events, markets etc. We can also provide discounted group fittings and gift vouchers. Please contact us to discuss.
